I was asleep in bed with a female I had met at Club Mariachi, just hours before. I immediately sat up and the first thing that came to my mind was Jo'el. If he found out I let some random girl stay in his house with me and sleep in our bed, he would flip because he's going to think I cheated on him, based on past experiences. I shook her sleeping body multiple times to wake her up, but all she did was wave me off.
"Look mami, you gotta get up. My man will be home soon."As soon as I said that I heard the front door to Jo'el's waterfront condo close.
"China!" I whispered. "Please get up. I don't have time to be getting into it with him."
"Okay Okay. What do you want me to do?" She asked me, slipping on her Guiseppe heels.
"Go down the back set of stairs. They lead right to the kitchen. You'll be able to get out the back door through there." I said.
She sighed heavily and then gave me a kiss on the cheek. "Thanks for letting me stay. I'll call you later." A smile came across my face, then quickly went away when I heard the doorknob to the bedroom door turn.
"Look, I'll explain." She said stepping in front of me.
Jo'el staggered into the room and I could tell he was drunk. "I guess you don't have to worry about explaining." I said laughing.
"Baby..." Jo'el called out to me. "Why it's two of you?"
I looked at China and she gave me a look as if 'she'd better go.' "Walk me downstairs?" She said intertwining her fingers with mine. Once we got to the front door, China stopped in her tracks and turned around to face my naked body, only to be covered with Jo'el's long white tee.
"Look, I know we just met, but I like you and I would want to see you if that's okay." She said smiling at me.
"Sure." was the only word I could say because I began to get butterflies...butterflies??
"Okay." She said biting her bottom lip and walking away.
The next day. I woke up to the sound of Jo'el throwing up in the bathroom. "I see you can't hold ya liquor." I said laughing at the sight of him hunched over the toilet.
"Man, shut up." He said before throwing up again.
"Whatever. I'm going out today, okay?" I told him.
"Where? I had plans to be with my baby." He said in between brushing his teeth.
"Let's go to Peachtree. You owe me for coming home drunk." I said looking at him through the mirror.
"You gon let me get something to eat first?" He said smirking at me.
I busted out laughing. "Nigga...you just threw up."
"Like you care." He said picking me up and carrying me to the bed.
