Chapter 17 |Special Evening|
My body felt so relaxed as the masseuse caressed many stress points in my body. The appointment was already made for me as I entered through the door letting me know Marcus have something up his sleeves. I’m not complaining about it though. A fresh manicure, pedicure, received a thread for my eyebrows, even got my hair did. Everything seem and felt surreal. Returning to room for me to dress my clothes back on, I notice my outfit that I was wearing is gone, but replaced with another outfit. I walked back out to ask about the outfit. The woman reassured me that is the clothing for me to put on, I wasn’t complaining because they are some very nice designer pieces. I slipped on the beautiful multi color sundress that stopped a little above my knee. Shoes were also on the side in a shoe box revealing a pair of Jimmy Choo wedge shoe to match the red color in the dress. I opened the box and notice a letter on top of the shoes.
“Special evening. Want you to look nice. Love Marcus.” the note read. My lips curled into a smile at the thought of his kindness. I slipped on the shoes, then walked out feeling confident in my appearance. At the front desk I thank the ladies for relaxing me as they reached me my bag of clothing. I’m definitely coming back. Walking to the car I thought about the test and an idea came to me. I stopped at the nearest Walgreens to find a small gift box. I brought it and was right back on the road. My cell went off so I answered it seeing it’s Chocolate.
“Hey sweetie, thanks for everything, I really appreciate your gesture.” I said with a smile upon my face.
“No problem baby. You on your way home?” he asked as I could hear people talking in the background.
“Yes. Jinn and Corey are back?” I asked.
“Yea.” he said.
“Let me ask you something. Why you brought me nice clothing when it’s a family occasion?” I asked.
“I just wanted you to look extra special. Talk to you in a few.” he said and hung up.
I knew it. Something is going on… After ten minutes I pulled into the driveway seeing a nice BMW parked out front. I had no clue who it’s for, but I grabbed my gift and placed it in my purse. Getting out, I approached the house, walking in the door to see the patio door open. I dropped my purse on the floor and head to the door seeing that everyone is outside. Marcus look extremely sexy, wearing a pair of black dress slacks, a red button down shirt with a black stitch design along the bottom edge of his shirt and he look my way and smirk, I guess pleased with my appearance. Zay sat next to Jinn and the baby while I stepped out onto the patio seeing someone I did not need to see. Ron and Moe. Who in the hell invited them? She look my way with a leer smile on her face. They were snug together as though they were planning something.
“Ok. Now we can eat.” Marcus announced as he slid behind me sliding his hands around my waist.
“You look sexy today.” He whispered and kissed my neck slightly before walking over to the food.
“Enough of that you two love birds.” Corey said aloud as they got up, then focus his attention back on Jinn. I smiled at his statement but it soon disappeared as Moe and Ron approach to the forefront. The scent of Ron trailed in my nose, a scent all too familiar. His clothing are fresh no lie wearing mostly white, with a pair of dark denims and white forces. Hair is freshly lined with a cut I’m still trying to get used too, but enough with him…
“I want you to meet Ron. Don‘t want to be rude or anything.” she said with a smirk. I look past her towards Jinn who just shook her head.
“Yea, already met.” I said walking over towards the food.
Everything look delicious as I grabbed a plate. I gathered all that I was going to eat as well as Zay and went over to make myself comfortable next to Jinn. I now had a good glimpse at the baby who she had bundled up nicely. The sun is now disappearing so its not as hot as it was earlier.
“She is so gorgeous.” I said with a smile on my face.
“Thank you…I wish Corey would stop talking…AND BRING MY DAMN FOOD.” she said aloud so he could hear. I snickered. Nothing about Jinn changed much.
“Come on Zay.” I said as he slid off the seat and walk to me. I sat him on my lap as we ate together, but I notice Jinn facial expression.
“What‘s up?” I asked, feeding Zay a piece of sausage.
“That’s o boy?” she asked giving him an eye.
I rolled my eyes giving her an grunt of disgust while slowly nodding. Her eyes pierced towards him a little more.
“He is cute.” she said as Corey trailed over with her plate.
“Whose cute?” he asked.
“You baby….Thanks for my food.” she said happily as he hand her plate and took Kaslyn from her arms. Off he went inside, I guess to give her a bottle.
I felt someone approach my from behind to see it is Marcus. He made himself comfortable next to me with his plate. After him came along tweetle dee and tweetle dumb. They sat across from Marcus and myself. I didn’t look towards him knowing he would have a remark.
“So, I‘ve heard a lot about you Marcus, from Moe. She say your like a big brother.” Ron said trying to start conversation.
“Really, well yea. I‘ve known her for a good grip now. Trying to get her to stay out of trouble.” with that remark, Jinn started coughing aloud. That girl is silly.
Suddenly the patio door sound opened and here came Corey walking out empty handed.
“Where is Kaslyn?” Jinn asked as he came closer.
“She is in her crib close to the door so we could hear her cry. She is sleeping at the moment.” he said grabbing the plate he fixed up earlier and making himself comfortable next to his wifey.
“So how long you and Moe been kicking it?” Marcus asked.
Maybe I should tell him that was the bastard he was on the phone with the last time which caused my phone to break.
“About a couple of months.” Ron said wrapping his arms around her pulling her in to kiss her on her cheek. Once he did so, his eyes locked into mines causing me to instantly look away. What that suppose to do? Make me feel bad.
We all ate, and soon were relaxing a bit since the moon is out. Candles were lit everywhere to keep bugs away from us, so its been fairing pretty good if I must say so myself. For once, I actually felt a little comfortable since we were all laughing and kidding around. I was nervous at first for something to slip out of Ron and Moe’s mouth about Ron and I past relationship, but nothing of that sort. I guess she was actually feeling Ron sort to speak. Ron is a fine piece of work, don’t get me wrong, but we were not compatible for a relationship. I guess a crazy person need a crazy person. Marcus slipped away from me for a little bit, until I heard the patio door open. The sound of music is mellow in the background as he slowly made his way closer to me. Corey voice suddenly interrupted the sweet sound.
“Marcus has an announcement to make.” he said as Marcus solid frame cast over me in my seat.
“So what is this announcement?” I asked with a smirk as I watch him lick his lips.
Suddenly he dropped down on one knee, eyes meeting mines closely. Instantly my hands covered my cheeks to what is about to happen. He held a smirk knowing this is something I never expected. We talked about marriage rarely, but this is the outcome.
“You know, I never thought I would be doing this to a spoiled brat…” he said as I could hear people chuckling in the background. “But you opened my eyes to more…I want you to continue to show me more to better myself because I couldn‘t do it alone.” he said as he slipped the box out from his pocket. My eyes began to water up from the joy I felt inside.
“Clarese Shantae Champion…Will you marry me?” he asked me opening the box showing me the diamond rock surrounded by sapphire stones around it. It is so beautiful.
“Well…” I could hear Jinn in the background.
Words couldn’t express the way I felt at this moment. Everything seem so perfect. I kissed him passionately taking in his sweet taste. Once breaking loose, he stared at me…
“I guess that means yes.” he said.
“Yes…” I said nodding my head in agreement overjoyed.
Looking around, I notice Moe glared at me and Ron trying his best to pretend like he is happy…That let me know something is up, but nothing can stop Marcus and me now…Nothing…
