White lighting shun in my eyes as I winced in pain from it. I can hear the nurses outside of the door whispering different things about my situation. Obviously they suspect Marcus but the dumb thing I feel is why would the suspect come to the hospital with me. Do they think it would just be a cover up? I heard the doctor step in with Marcus right behind him. Immediately I pretend as though I had fallen as they began to whisper among themselves.

“We will keep her overnight to monitor her for any peculiar signs.” the doctor said as Marcus cut him off.
“Signs…Signs like what?” he asked.
“Well being the fact that Miss Champion is twelve weeks into her pregnancy, what happened tonight can be fatal, even leading to a miscarriage.” he said as we suddenly heard his name being broadcast aloud on the system. “I will be back a couple of minutes.” he said as I heard footsteps walk away.

A shadow cast over my bed as my eyes slowly opened. Marcus was looking down at me.

“How are you feeling?” he asked with a weak smile.
“How do you think I feel? Sick…exposed…I am sad and hurt. I want to go home and remove is scent from my body.” I whined looking off towards the window.

His hand stroked my hair back.

“Push over.” he demanded as I scoot over some for him to get in. I felt so safe now.
“I shouldn‘t have danced with her…Everything would have been cool then.” he said as his hands wrapped around his waist.
“No don‘t start blaming it on yourself. Its my fault.” I said. “If I didn‘t go off…” I said with a gesture and stopped in mid sentence when I noticed my ring is missing.
“What you mean?” he asked as I cut him off.
“My ring!” I said as I cut him off. “My ring is gone…Marcus you have to go and find it.” I said in an upset manner.
“I‘m not about to leave you.” he said as he raised up getting his phone out of his pocket.
“It‘s going to be ok. If we can‘t find it, I‘ll get you another one.” he said.
“Hell we‘re not. I want the one you gave me. My ring.” I said looking at my naked finger.

Marcus arms unwrapped around me as I felt the bed move so he could reach in his pocket for something. I look over my shoulder to see Marcus grabbing his phone out and dialing up who I assume is Corey.

“She fine man…Look I need you to do two things. One check the room Clare was in and see if you see her ring and two grab Zay for me from your cousin house….Okay man thanks…Tell Jinn everything is cool…Aight man…” then he hung up.

He settled his arms back around my waist as I could feel his breath pressing against my neck.

“So what happened tonight?” he asked as I could feel an uneasy edge overcome my body. I knew we would be going back to this.

I let go of a deep sigh while recollecting the events that taken place.

“After I left you, Ron was so persistent to talk to me. Instead of starting a scene. I followed him to see what the deal was….” I said stopping there as everything came flooding back. I turn around slightly looking up at Marcus. “Things just went too far and I realized I could no longer be strong…” I said resting my head back on the pillow trying to forget it all. Suddenly Marcus got up adjusting himself.

“Where are you going Marcus?” I asked seeing him walking out of the door. Silence is what he left me to hear.
