Chapter 6 |No Moe|
Wednesday night, we decide to spend it as a family between Marcus, Zay, and myself along with Jinn and Corey. The only misunderstanding is that Corey decide to invite his little sister Moe. It didn’t matter though because I know for a fact I have Marcus, so I’m not tripping. Jinn and myself sat in the kitchen after spending an hour cooking up a little meal.
We all sat in the backyard, Corey barbequing, Jinn and myself talking, while Zay and Marcus sat on the swing chillen. Everything look perfect, until I could hear her voice in the background.
“Hello everybody.” Moe said prancing in the backyard. We all greeted her as I began taking notice of her sleazy appearance. She worn a pair of white mini shorts along with a pink shirt that was open in the front to reveal her white and pink bra set. Her hair is pinned up as she held a basket with something in it.
“I have some things in here that I cooked, where should I place them at?” she asked walking over towards us.
“You can place them here.” Jinn said pointing to the table.
Moe gave me a smirk look as she gave a quick glance to Marcus.
“Oh my goodness is that little Zay?” she asked walking over towards the boys. She stooped over in Marcus face being that Zay is sitting in his lap. “How old is he now?” she asked as she began pinching his plump cheeks.
“Two.” I said aloud.
“Girl stand up straight. All we need is one full moon out.” Corey joked.
She stood up straight eyeing Corey.
“Real funny.” she said as she walk back towards our area making herself comfortable.
“So where is your man at?” Jinn asked.
“You know damn well I‘m single.” she smirked. “And it feels real good too.” she smiled at me, her eyes telling me something different. “So Clarese…I see you and Marcus are really close now. Are you two planning to move back down here?” she asked.
“Don‘t know.” I said not wanting to give her any type of detail about our relationship. Nosy hephar.
“Ready to eat?” Corey asked aloud.
We all chimed in by getting up to grab a plate. Marcus continued sitting there with Zay though so I walked over.
“Want me to fix your plate?” I asked.
“No, I‘m going to fix something.” he said.
“Well, I‘ll take Zay so I could feed him.” I said scooping him up in my arms.
Corey and Jinn slipped in the house, I guess to retrieve more items for us to eat.
“Momma, I want chicken.” he said aloud as I approach the food.
Moe look around at Zay. “Momma? That is too cute. Got you calling her momma.” she said with a hint of sarcasm.
“Excuse me.” I said cutting her off.
“Did I say something wrong?” she asked trying to play innocent.
“Where do you come from saying shit like that?” I asked being really a first for me to curse around lil Zay. “I take care of him, not you so mind your business.” I said feeling the presences of someone stepping up behind me.
“Well I am sorry for offending you the way I did if that’s the case. I was making a statement.” she said.
“That was uncalled for though. You were out of line for telling that to Zay in the first place. And to correct your statement, we are his caretakers which means we are his parents.” Marcus voice traveled from behind me.
She look at Marcus as though she couldn’t say anything at first. She remover her eyes from him to me.
“Look, I‘m not trying to stir up any type of shit. Ya‘ll coming at me like I‘m the damn enemy. Well let me tell you, fuck you and your fake ass family, ya‘ll not going to last long.” she said dropping her plate and storming into the house by Corey and them.
“I just don‘t get it.” I said in an undertone as I walked over to the food grabbing Zay a piece of leg and a scoop of macaroni, then walk to the table to have a seat.` Jinn walk back outside with a confused look on her face. She held a tray of food placing it on the table.
“What the hell is her issue?” she asked.
“I don‘t even know. She step to me about bull shit.” I said as Marcus came to the table grabbing food from the tray and placing it on his plate. Corey and Moe walk back outside as she grabbed another plate to prepare leaving the food she thrown down on the ground.
Corey shook his head as though he knew his little sister is a nut case.

I just got out of the shower after our family fun feeling refreshed. Marcus laid back in the bed flipping through the stations wearing only a pair of boxers while I made myself comfortable in his big t-shirt. Crawling in the bed, I laid up against the headboard.
“That was fun.” I said trying to stir a conversation.
“Yea.” he said settling on watching some horror movie on the Chiller station.
“Can I ask you a question?” I asked.
“Shoot.” he said.
“Have you and Moe ever had a thing?” I asked.
“Naw…” he said one worded.
“Look at me and tell me that Marcus.” I said.
He look at me dead in my face.
“No…we never had a thing.” he said. “Besides, why would that matter?” he asked, settling his attention back on the television.
“Because it gives me a hint on why she act the way she acts towards you and me. I notice the way she looks at you. I know she wants you.” I said.
He settle his attention back towards me.
“But I don‘t want her. I don‘t have time for no fuckin‘ whiny broad. She runs to her brother for every fucking thing.” he said.
I laughed at his statement. He placed so much emphasis on that.
“So how am I different in comparison with me and my father?” I asked.
“You have respect for yourself and for your pops. She don‘t have respect for herself or her brother. She only wants for self, but you have genuine interests which you prove to me after your fathers death.” he said.
I took in his words and ate them up in my heart.
“You always know what to say don‘t you?” I asked.
He came closer to me causing my heart to skip a beat.
“How you think I keep your ass in line.” he said as his lips pressed up against mines slipping his tongue in my mouth.
