Chapter 15 |Baby Thoughts|

Marcus and I along with Zay walked into the hospital the next morning with an assortment of balloons and whatnots for the new baby girl Jinn had early this morning. As happy as I am, my body felt weak for some strange reason. Hospitals always leave me a weird feeling for some reason, but I brushed it off with a thought if enjoyment for a new baby in the family. Zay fiddled with the huge teddy bear I had in my left hand while I held him in the other arm as we stepped onto the elevator. Stepping off the elevator Marcus took the lead in stepping out and heading to the room. Walking into the room, the sun shun brightly in her room as we walked in on Corey in the bed with Jinn who looks extremely exhausted. He held her in his arms securely. Slowly we walked in, a smile upon my face at the sight. The joy children bring is amazing at how it can draw a couple together. Corey held a grin on his face as he fed Jinn pieces of ice.

“Good morning.” I whispered as Marcus walked over to place the balloons on her side of the bed.
“So where is my niece?” Marcus asked looking over at Corey while I placed Zay heavy behind on the ground as he roamed around in the room. Looking at the available seat at the other end, I sat the big teddy bear down.
“My baby girl is in the nursery downstairs.” he said getting up out of the bed. “I want you to see how beautiful she is man.” he said walking towards the door with Marcus trailing behind him.
“You coming baby?” Marcus asked grasping onto Zay because he was trailing behind Marcus.
“No, I‘m going to stay in here.” I said moving the teddy bear onto the floor while making myself comfortable. The boys left out, leaving me and Jinn to converse.

I glance towards her worn out body as she watch the soaps on television.

“How does the new momma feel?” I teased sitting back as my eyes glance towards the television.
“Girl tired, but I‘m happy.” she said with a weak smile on her face looking towards me. “Why you didn‘t go see the baby too?” she asked.
I shrugged my shoulders. “Not feeling too hot really.” I said holding onto my stomach that is churning for some reason. I didn’t get the chance to eat, so it might just be because I’m not on my routine. I notice a glare from Jinn.
“Seems like more than not feeling too hot. Why your holding your stomach?” she asked.
“Nothing girl…Just feeling a bit famished. Need something in my system.” I said seeing her face in disagreement.
“Are you sure. You could be pregnant.” she said with a smirk.
“Whatever. I really doubt that boo.” I said sitting up some hearing the door open.

As I look back, I noticed Moe slipping in the door holding a gift bag.

“Hey.” she said holding a fake smirk. “I ran into the dudes downstairs. Baby girl surprisingly looks cute.” she amused herself with that lame joke.
“Don‘t feel like hearing the criticism today, alright.” Jinn said seriously.
“I‘m just teasing. I bought my lil niece a lot of cute things. She need to know that her auntie will be there for her.” she said as she placed the bag on the empty space upon the desk.
“I‘m sure she will remember you. Who doesn‘t?” Jinn joked as she adjusted herself on the bed.

Moe cut her eyes at me before stating anymore information.

“So Clarese, I met one of your old friends not too long ago. He goes by the name of Ron. Know him?” she asked with so much seriousness.

I rolled my eyes at the thought of hearing her say his name.

“Yea. Why?” I asked to see what her point is.
“I was just asking. I‘ve actually knew him for a grip but after her baby shower he told me ya‘ll had a fling back in the day. I was hoping you wouldn‘t mind if we start kicking it.” she asked with a smirk.
“I have no problems with that at all.” I said with a smirk back.

What is her scheme seriously? Does she think I want him back or something. Or may she is trying to distract me to get to Marcus. I have my eyes on you Moe. Try to play games and see what the real deal is.

“Well I better go. He‘s waiting for me. Congratulations dear.” she said strolling out of the door. Once we heard her footsteps heading up the hall, Jinn quickly spoke.

“Don‘t worry about her ass. She ain‘t bout shit anyway.” Jinn said flipping the channels.
“Does it really seem as though I‘m worried. Girl down.” I joked.
“Well, tell me who is this Ron character. Must be the nigga Marcus was furious about a week or so back.” she said.
“Nigga has problems. She could take him off my hands though. And if she successfully do that, I will personally thank her.” I said suddenly having a bad taste in my mouth.

I got up heading to the bathroom while hearing her still talking. I hacked the taste up spitting it in the sink.

“You alright?” she asked.
“Yea, just a funny taste.” I replied grabbing a paper towel to wipe my mouth. Walking back out into the main room I noticed Marcus and Corey along with Zay walking into the room.
“Isn‘t she beautiful Marcus.” Jinn asked as Marcus sat down in the empty chair I once sat in and Corey walked over seeing the big gift bag Moe left for the baby.
“Yea man…No lie, you definitely going to find yourself murking these niggas out here.” he said taking my hand to pull me into his lap.
“What‘s all this shit?” Corey asked while I placed Zay on my lap.
“Oh, Moe dropped that off.” Jinn said.
“Damn, I know she didn‘t spend any of her money. Probably put it all on the card I had gave her.” he said dropping the bag on the floor.
“What‘s her name?” I asked realizing I didn’t know her name.
“Kaslyn.” she said with a smile. A tap at the door sound and soon the nurse walked in with the beautiful light caramel coated baby with curly black hair in.
“She is hungry.” the nurse smiled at everyone in the room.

Jinn gleefully sat up to hold her. She picked the baby up from the enclosed case they rolled her in and gently placed her in her arms.

“We better go.” Marcus said tapping my thigh.
“Yea. Love you all. We will see you all soon.” I added holding Zay in my arms.
“Ok…See you in a day or so.” Jinn said as we walked out of the room heading back to the car.

Driving along on the interstate, I felt relieved to leave the hospital but still felt a weird disturbance in my stomach.

“You hungry?” Marcus asked.

I nod my head not really in the mood to talk.

“What‘s wrong?” he asked.
“I don‘t know. Just hungry I guess.” I said looking out of the window.

Nothing more was said besides Zay in the background singing a tune that is on the radio. Arriving at IHOP we parked, getting out and entering into the restaurant. The scent of food at this moment was only making me nauseated. We seated while the waitress gave us menus to look at. I didn’t bother to look at mines as I held my upset stomach.

“You sure your alright?” Marcus asked looking my way.
“Just don‘t feel too hot.” I said while excusing myself to the bathroom.

Entering into the bathroom and an available stall, I stood at the sink feeling the urge to vomit. The only thing is that it wouldn‘t come up. At this moment the thought of what Jinn said earlier is only clear because of the countless occasions of not using birth control nor condoms. Its so ironic how this is suddenly coming about after Jinn had her baby. Could I be pregnant? There is only one way to find this out.
