Chapter 33 |Past|
Where to begin is the question. Her eyes held so many questions I couldn’t stare her in her eyes. I walked out of the damaged room into the living room where I made myself comfortable on the floor while she settled in between my legs resting her head upon my chest. My hand stroked her hair while my chin rest slightly upon her head.
I sort through my thoughts not wanting to say the wrong thing but either way it comes out, she will hate me.
“I met Claritha right after my mom died and siblings were all separated…I was like fifteen or sixteen then.”
Flashback
The streets became his home. In alleys, abandon homes, he made himself comfortable. No one paid him no mind, and neither did he pay others any mind. He hustled to make the money, hustled to stay alive. Standing in an alley, he and his friends were shooting dice so he could make a profit to buy today’s meal. Mirror reflected windows rolled passed them, then immediately came to a halt. All of the boys were trying to figure out why such an fancy limo strolling down the street.
“Yo Marcus. Best we bounce from here man. Shit smell fowl.” one of his boys said before grabbing the loot he won up and pushing it down the pockets of his plaid torn jacket.
The window rolled down revealing a female hiding behind shades.
“Shit son…who she be?” some of the boys whispered amongst themselves as their curiosity grew once she opened her door.
Getting out of the limo, a tall slender female stood wearing what seems to be only a trench coat that stood mid thigh. Walking towards the males, she stood with a hard demeanor. Although her eyes hid behind such dark shades, her eyes focused in on one individual…Marcus.
“You…” she finally spoke as all of them began looking around. “The one with the black hoodie. Come here.” she demanded.
“Who are you?” he asked still standing in a straight stance with hands dug deep in his pocket while he fumbled with a hole he discovered.
“I don‘t answer to questions. Come here and you will get your answer.” she spoke yet again as all of the boys made weird noises due to the fact it seem as though he just been punked by a female.
Marcus isn’t the type to find a fight. He approached her as she turned on her heels.
“Come with me.” she said walking back towards the limo. Marcus followed without looking back, and that’s what he did, never look back.
Getting in the limo. Marcus look in the interior part of the car seeing the shiny polished leather, a phone system and music blaring in the background.
“Get comfortable. We have a long ride ahead of us.” she said eyes never taking off of her target.
Marcus sat there not saying one word, just sat and enjoyed the ride.
“Your not going to talk?” she asked.
“I have a lot of questions, but you don‘t answer to them so fuck it.” he said calmly.
He heard a chuckle in her voice, but not once look her way.
“I‘ve been having my eyes on you Mr. Cooper.” she said and suddenly his eyes darted at her wondering where she know his name from.
Once more she chuckled annoyingly, but Marcus ignored it.
“I knew from the moment I saw you I had to have you. Since you don‘t know me, I will introduce myself. The name is Claritha. Claritha Champion.” she said while his eyes widen hearing her name before. “Now that you know my name, lets get down to business. I‘m looking for a nigga to handle strictly business. I see that in you and a lot more. I need a partner, and not a fake ass one either. If you can feel those shoes then the offer is yours, if not, I‘ll kill your ass right now and toss you out making sure this talk stays confidential. So take your pick.” she said.
He eyed her for a good minute before making a statement.
Although Marcus feel as though there is nothing to live for, this is one way he didn’t want to die.
“I want to live.” he simply said.
“Good.” her smirk revealed while she snatched the glasses from her face to show her light colored eyes. Marcus became locked in her eyes and she knew it. She had him where she wanted him, and now is time to complete the deal.
“Undo your pants. I want some dick.” she retorted as Marcus look in shock.
“What?” he asked.
“You heard me. Now do as I said.” she said realizing his nervousness.
Marcus never slept with anyone, making Claritha his first…
A year later…
“Marcus I have an inside job for you.” Claritha look at the male she took in a year ago and seen how much he changed since then, body and all. She admired her hard work.
“Wassup?” he said as he sat down playing on his play station system.
Standing in front of the television screen, she blocked his view.
“Turn the shit off and listen.” she growled getting his attention.
Releasing a heavy sigh, Marcus turned off the distraction and focused on her.
“We are planning to kill the man who have my riches. This will make us invincible baby, but it all boils down to you. Crypt is his street name. You probably heard it many of times. Being the fact he is the drug lord of many…you have to get in…” she said.
“What you mean get in? Why can‘t we simply shoot his ass and move on.” he asked her.
“What I told your ass about the million of questions, shit…Don‘t make me get my gun so I could see you dance for me.” she barked.
He didn’t respond. Claritha always tormented him just for the hell of it, but Marcus developed what you can call love for her. Its reversed being that the female is the male in this situation.
“We tried that…But his ass is slick. We need someone to go inside so we can make our move.” she continued. “Get ready, we‘re leaving in thirty.” she said while walking off leaving Marcus alone.
