Chapter N I N E

"Did you just say Zion? I know you’re bugging now.”

After Zion had walked out of Quentin’s front door, he got dressed and hauled ass to his best friend, Omar Devoir’s house to let him in on what had been going on in his life. Since Lauren’s death, Omar had been trying to get in touch with his good friend, but was unsuccessful. When Que showed up to his two-story home, he was grateful, but now hearing the news about him associating with the cold-blooded murder her self, had Omar spooked- for Quentin’s life of course.
“How am I bugging?”
“Do you know who Zion is? Hell, do you know anything about the Amoretti family?”
“Not really,”
Omar sighed and took a swig from his Budlight bottle, “You are so naïve man. First Lauren cheats on your ass and you don’t do shit about it, then you are blind to the fact that the Amoretti’s are one of the most powerful families in Georgia. They own almost every fucking business, police station, anything you can think of.”
“That’s not that bad.”
“Shut the fuck up Que. Them niggas are murders and Zion is the ring leader of that shit. She is a killer Quentin,”
“What does that have to do with me?”
Omar looked at his friend and began to feel bad for him. He was so damn naïve that it was sickening. Omar fought to find the right words to express to Quentin, but there was no easy way to break down the horrid news. So he opted to what any other good friend would do- he shut his damn mouth.
“Never mind man- never mind man.”
