I had awaken to find myself alone in the bed. I glance at the clock to see it was after four. I knew Clare got up, I thought to probably grab a bite to eat, but she never returned. Rubbing my eyes from sleep, I began to call out for her.

“Clare…Clare” I shouted with no answer.

Getting out of bed, I found myself a pair of boxers to slip on since I had nothing on my body. Entering into the living room, all of the lights were out.

“Clare.” I repeated with still no answer.

Shit where the hell is she? I peeped out of the front window to see the car was gone. Immediately heading back into the bedroom, I grabbed my phone and began calling her, but it went straight to voicemail. Heading to the closet to retrieve some clothing, I dialed up Corey who answered the phone groggily.

“What the fuck man?” he answered.
“Let me borrow your truck.” I said.
“For what?” he asked.

I had a weird feeling some shit was about to go down because she would never leave on her own like this.

“I just need it. I need to see where Clare went off to.” I said slipping on my jeans.
“Ok man…Meet me out front.” he said, and off the phone I went. I checked my surroundings before leaving, and tried redialing Clare once again. It rung once, but went straight to her voicemail afterwards.

“Shit Clare.” I said aloud walking out of the door to see Jinn instead of Corey.
“I know where she is.” Jinn simply said with the keys in her hand.
“Where man?” I asked taking the keys from her grasp.
“Moe‘s crib. She called me earlier to see where she stayed at and then text me not too long ago to know her apartment number.” she said looking me in my eyes. “She is pissed. You better get her before she does something she will regret.” she warned me and immediately I jogged to the truck and pulled out.

All I could thinking about was hoping she wouldn’t get caught doing something that will give us life. I knew the policeman officers at home, and we had no problems. Here is a different story. As much as I wanted to rid Moe myself, I knew we had to play smart as well. If we get caught it will be the end of both Clare and myself and I’m not having that. Paving my way through the streets I redialed Clare once again with still no answer. I was pass pissed now.

Sitting in the parking lot, I thought about what I was about to do. I’ve been sitting here for twenty minutes enrage with anger from the girl who hated me since day one. Even though she will never have Marcus, I will be damn to know she is still alive and her thinking of her next plot against me. Opening the car door, I got out heading to the building with the nice hiding under the bulky clothing. Entering the building a security guard sat up staring at me when I was heading to the elevator.

“Miss…May I help you?” he asked while scratching his head like he was confused.
“No. I know where I‘m going.” I said with a weak smile on my face holding a set of keys as though I was staying here while approaching the elevator.

Getting on the elevator, she stayed on the fourth floor. I watch the lights lighting up the numbers revealing the number four. Stepping off the elevator, 409 engraved in gold stood before me. I approached it, knocking on the door.

“Who is it?” the voice answered sounding as though she has been up for a while.
“Open the door.” I said standing there hearing the doors unlock. She stood at the door staring at me.
“I‘ve been waiting for you.” she said stepping to the side letting me enter. I stood there confused, wondering what the hell is going on. My eyes peered her way while I held onto the knife that is anxiously ready to stab her.

I didn’t say anything, I simply entered after hearing her close the door behind. Turning around to stare her in her face she had her arms folded staring at me.

“Sorry for the lost of your baby.” she said staring me in my eyes.

I slid the knife out from under my shirt charging at her causing her back to slam in the door while I held the knife by her throat.

“You trying to destroy my damn life because of your childish memories? You fucking with the wrong one tonight.” I said seeing her smug look upon her face. It only enrage more anger in my system.

“Calm down.” a voice echoed behind me as I turned around seeing a dark image appear into the light. My heart stopped for a minute as I glared at the person before me. Long black hair flowed from the head of the female. Brown eyes, the same shape as mines, lips, with a slightly different structured nose, but this person…This person looks like me…

My focus on Moe eventually set on the being before me. She was gorgeous. She look like me.

“Clarese Shantae Champion. Nice to finally meet you.” she said staring at me with a smirk. “Now let my girl go.” she said and my grasp completely went down seeing Moe go into the arms of my twin. Talking about confused.

“Wait wait wait…What the fuck is going on?” I asked holding the knife across my chest.
“We‘ve been waiting for you. Well at least I have. Baby girl just had to lure you over here.” she said and everything was processing in my mind slowly, especially when I saw her and Moe kissing.
“What the hell is going on? Is this some sick twisted ass joke?” I asked.
“Go to the room…” she instructed Moe while standing in the same position staring me in my eyes. Once the door slammed a smile rose upon her face. “Have a seat.” she insisted but I continued standing. She made herself comfortable in the arm chair while grabbing something from her pocket pulling a foreign cigar out. It look similar to that of what my dad use to smoke.
“How do you know me? Who are you?” I asked.
“We‘ve ran paths several times, but you never noticed. I was there at my fathers death the night you murdered him. The name is Claritha.” she said.
“Your father?” I asked,
“Yes…Absolom…But more like Uncle Pete as you know of. Our mother separated us between two men, although your father didn‘t know, mines did. They were both in love with her, and she was with them. But enough about the past, lets get down to the present.” she said taking a puff of her cigar.

Why is she here? What is the deal with her showing up? How come she know so much about me?…

“I‘ve been having my eyes close on you. You have been the hot topic on the streets still. So tell me something…” she said blowing a smoke cloud in the air. “Why are ya‘ll still running?” she asked me.
“Still running. Nobody is running.” I said.
“O really…Seems like it to me. Especially since you just recently lost your child. You heading back to New York?” she asked me.
“This shit is insane.” I said pacing the floor, then settled my eyes back on her eyes.
“Look, I tell you what…Hand the business over to me and shit will be clear. You and your love could go away together, free from it all.” she said when a sudden knock appeared on the door.
“Open the damn door.” Marcus voice thundered through the door but my eyes focused on her…
“You better get that. He may be curious to hear about how to survive.” she said holding a cheeky smile.

The knocking persisted, so I went on ahead and answered seeing Marcus barging in the door looking around until his eyes met Claritha.

“Good to see you again Marcus.” she said standing up and approaching him slowly.
“Marcus do you know her?” I asked folding my arms.
“Its been a while, but our paths crossed occasionally.” she said. “So glad to have you all here together.” she said her eyes still focused on Marcus.
“Marcus?” I questioned him once more wondering what the deal is.

Is he holding something back from me? How do they know each other? If she thinks she is going to control the business my dad built, she has another thing coming.

Claritha? What in the world is going on? She stared me in my eyes with a smug look upon her face. So many memories. So much mystery. Her body came closer upon me, her eyes never leaving my eyes.

“My my Marcus…How long has it been?” she asked me holding a smirk upon her face.
“What’s the deal Marcus?” Clarese said in the background.
“Sister child…Marcus and I go ways back too…You can sort of say I‘ve discovered him. Introduced him to all the real players of the day, even to your dad.” she said walking around standing in front of Clarese face now. I didn’t even want to turn around, but I did anyway.
“Marcus. You knew I had a twin? You knew I had another fucking twin and you didn‘t say shit.” Clarese said.
“He knew me very well…” she said then spun around. “So you found yourself a knock off in place of me I see.” she said approaching me once again.
“Enough with the bullshit. What‘s the deal?” I asked trying let the past escape before I lose my future.
“No Marcus, let her continue to speak. She is my twin. One I have never met before. I want to hear her end of the story.” Clarese jumped in with so much attitude while my anger boiled.
“Its real simple Clarese. Marcus became a backstabbing bitch and decided to join with your team.” she said simply while my fist began to ball up thinking of the punishment she is about to receive.
“Marcus! You been lying to me all this time.” I noticed Clarese couldn’t hold her tears much longer. “You knew about this…I bet you knew about my father‘s death. DIDN‘T YOU MARCUS!” she shouted in rage as I approached her, but she copped her hands up for me to stay back.
“You have some fucking nerve to judge a person for lying when you been a damn liar your whole life. I don‘t ever want to see your ass again. Have a nice fucking life with my new found twin.” she said while escaping through the door. I tried to run and get her, but when I touched her, I felt nails clawing at my skin to break loose from me. She is angry. A side I have never seen before. I dropped down on my knees holding onto her legs, but she continued fighting me until I gave into the pain afflicted upon my body, not from the physical effect, but emotionally and mentally after hearing her say. “You can rot your black ass in hell. I never want to see you again.” Before she completely walked away, I heard something hit the floor and I knew…I knew it was the ring. The ring that was going to bind us eternally together forever. She was gone. I held onto the ring that had fallen on the floor and held it tightly in my hand.

Never have I gone this far with any woman. No one…Not even Claritha. I fucked up for not telling her, but Claritha is the past I was running from. I didn’t know who her father was. I never met him. I worked for her. She was running game since a youngin’ and I got caught up in the game. She made me her sidekick, showed me the ropes I needed to be the top seller for life. She had my heart for a minute, but had taken away my livelihood. She never took shit from nobody. And although I knew she was in love with me, she had no respect for me. I felt like a bitch around her and she knew it. She is known to be the most ruthless female on the streets, but she never went by the name Claritha. No she is better known as Ice. Her cold and heartless ways became evident killing families for the hell of it. I was there with her, killing for the hell of it until Crypt took me in under his wing and showed me the real way to life.

That’s when I discovered her… Her twin. How could I tell Crypt I used to work for the enemy? I never knew she was Absolom’s daughter though. All I knew she was a money hungry bitch who fed off of people’s misery. I had no choice but to let go of my past in order to move to the present. Getting up, I began walking toward the elevator when I heard a gun cock back ready to fire.

“You’re going to run after that bitch?” she asked but I didn’t bother to answer her.

I could hear her heels clicking against the tiled floor towards me. Her presence behind me became clear as I could feel her body heat against me.

“You don‘t need her.” she said stepping around to stare me in my face. While placing the gun towards my chest. I couldn’t look at her because all I seen was Clarese. “You belong to me. Always have and always will.” she continued then look off to the distance looking at someone.

The sound of Moe’s voice could be heard.

“Marcus. I would like for you to meet someone.” Claritha said.

Someone with small footsteps approached from behind me, but I didn’t say anything. I grabbed a hold of her wrist, even though she could have pulled the trigger anytime she had wanted too.

“Now, Marcus baby. Calm down…I would like for you to meet your baby girl Melanie.” she said.

I glanced down, and before me stood a shy innocent baby girl about five years of age glancing up at me with big brown eyes.

“Melanie, this is your daddy Marcus.” she told the little girl.

The little girl made my heart drop so low. She held features similar to mines, even characteristics similar to mines. She didn’t say anything. Just observed me.

I couldn’t help but laugh aloud not believing my eyes. All in a days time, I lost both of my babies, Clarese and my unborn, after making passionate love with my fiancée come to discover her at Moe house only to see Clarese twin who I shared a past with which cost me my relationship and now a baby. You got to be kidding me.

“This is bullshit.” I said walking past her.

She jabbed the gun in my back hard.

“You know I‘m not afraid to use it.” she said. I turned around looking her dead in her eyes.
“Shoot me. Shoot me since you destroyed everything else.” I said raising my arms up to add emphasis.

She just held a smirk upon her face and lowered the gun.

“Still the same…” she said. “Go back over by momma.” she told the little girl who ran back towards Moe. Claritha walk towards me with a swag eluding sex. Her body pressed against mines.
“You can‘t run from your past baby. You know in reality, I‘m all you got…well…” she said with a slight laughter… “Along with baby girl Moe.” she said looking to the side making a sort of kissing face towards Moe who did the same back.

I couldn’t take it any longer. My hand covered over Claritha face shoving her back onto her back causing her to fall on her back and the gun falling across the floor.

“I‘m tired of your ass. I should have known this bullshit was you…It has YOU written all over it…You bitch…” I said aloud while snatching her by her hair causing her to raise to her feet. My fist instantly pound in her face, but I stopped…I stopped after I seen Clarese face. I watched the blood seep from her lip, but she still held a smirk. My hand loosened and I slowly began backing away.

“What‘s wrong?” she asked breathing heavily. “Bitch ass couldn‘t finish the job? This war had just begun Marcus Cooper” she continued but enough of this. I need to find Clarese and make things right with her again. But how?
