I placed my Dolce & Gabana shades on as the valet opened the door of 'Angel' . "Ms.Monroe" he spoke, calling me by my last name. "Hello Leon, keep her close, I wont be long." He nodded as I walked around the car, headed for my place. "Good evening, welcome to Donovan Heights" Katherine, the front desk girl spoke. "Hi, Any messages for ten oh one [1001]?" I asked. "Ummm, your guest is waiting, she arrived about an hour ago."

I exited the elevator as i clutched my keys in my hand, I could already hear Bently. I smiled as my heart raced, I was eagar to see my baby. I unlocked my door and immediatly, Bently ran up to me. "Bently!" I said as I picked him up. "Damn demon dog" a voice said. I looked up to see my girl.

"About time you got here" Tiffany spoke.

"Good to see you too Tiff!" I said as I played in Bently's curly hair. "Any word from Tyson?" I asked.

"He called a minute ago" she sighed

"We cant let that shit get out, Tiff" I spoke, concerning the whole Dymond situation.

"Shit is already out! Ya' name is all over Harlem"

"Fuck" I spoke under my breath

"Thats what you get for not lettin me handle it, Tyson ole dumbass"

"He keep fuckin up, he's next" I said joking, but pissed at the sloppy job he had done.

"Look, we cant start till he get's here, quit the the bad vibe," she smiled, " You having fun in ya' lil hide out?"

"It's not a hide out, more like a new beginning."

"And the nigga's look like what?" Tiff asked, changing the subject

"Im not looking at them! I got my own shit to handle" I said smiling a bit to myself

"So who is he?" she asked smiling. I rolled my eyes

"His name's Ace, well, Rome"

"I knew it!"

"Shut up, we're just friends, nothing more" I lied.

"Yea, whatever."

"You need to come down there with me" I said, Tiffany looked at me like I was crazy.

"You tryna stay permanately?"

"Yea. Im sick of this lifestyle. I paid my dues. I dont owe anyone anything. New York used to be fun for me, it used to be new to me, it used to be home."

"Damn, I still cant believe your serious. I mean, I know your dad died an-"

"Dont, go there, Tiff" I interupted

"Im just saying, we've been down with each other since we were kids, and you just gonna up and leave?"

"That's why im tryna get you to leave with me, there is life outside of NY. Plus, Im thinking about college." I said. Tiffany sat back.

"You should do it, college was always your thing"

"Im thinking you should give it try! I mean we're 20 years old pushing Range Rover's & BMW's and flying across the country. What do we have to lose?"

"Like I said, you should go for it" I sucked my teeth at her stubbornness.

"Tiff, Im done with this life, and Im not leaving you behind" A knock came to my door, Tyson. I got up and walked over to the door, I turned and looked at Tiff, "We'll talk later."

I answered the door to see Tyson. I hit him upside the head as he walked in.

The story between the three of us started back in elementary school. Tiffany and I were like sister's, nothing could keep us away from each other. When i was 10, my mother died of cancer, leaving me with my dad, a smooth talking Dominican & Black guy name Manuel. My mother had full custody of me before then, so walking into his world, turned mines completly upside down. That's when I met Tyson, he lived with Manuel. My father tried to keep me away from my his work, placing me in private schools, making sure I had the best everything, really only making me more eagar to get into it his "lifestyle". Finally, on my 16th birthday, I got what I was asking for, a part in Manuel's cartel. By then I was in love with my father. I saw no wrong in him, he was what, in my opinion, a man should be. He had power, respect, pride...he had it all. He treated a lady like a lady, not property. Needless to say, I was daddy's girl. Harlem was my spot, made my first deal, made my first kill. My dad spoiled me, and made sure I was safe, but after two months, he pulled me out. Apparently some new nigga from Missouri was caken up on my dad's corners. And apparently that new nigga from Missouri happened to be my boyfriend. Of course, I was blind & disobediant to Manuel's request for me to leave Blaze alone. "His blood is on your hands, Janae" my father spoke. You couldn't tell 16 year old Janae nothing. He was the same age as Tyson, so I felt I was doing no wrong, wasn't like I was sleeping with him. The fact that Blaze was 4 years older than me, and a drug dealer, [unaknowing to me] only pissed my dad off more. And when my father did tell me, I felt it was just one of his tricks to tear us apart. I never figured out why my father didn't want me with a man who was just like him. But I soon realized, Blaze was nothing like my father. He wasn't a man, he was a boy in a candy store, satisfying his sweet tooth at any cost.

Blaze had been warned once to get lost, but his pride stood taller than he. Manuel had decided to pay Blaze a visit. He had his team, all but Chico, my uncle, who had 'misteriously' vanished the week before. But it was a set up, all of my father's people went against him. They had all took part in killing Chico, and planned to kill me as well, but Blaze wouldn't have it. I was his girl, basically his meal ticket to the game. People respected me, and to see Blaze next to me, they respected him as well. Needless to say, he didn't earn anything. The same people who enjoyed to watch Manuel rise, were the same people who enjoyed to watch him fall to his death. And when I finally got the chance, I paid every single one of them a deadly visit, acompanied by Tiffany & Tyson. Next to Blaze, Dymond was my last target, she pulled the first trigger, and Blaze pulled the last. The two of them surely died together, catching them in intimacy was the cherry on top. I had caught them in the worst predicament ever, with their pants down. So I figured, let the bitch live...or let her think she will. I convienced her that she would live, if she killed him. It didnt take two seconds before he was laid out, and second later, she was too. I had Tiffany clearing bank accounts, and Tyson burning bodies. Apparently, Dymond's body was never set to fire, instead her body was dumped over a bridge, and recently recovered. During the whole thing, Tyson & I were dating, if you'd call it that much. After that, we just chilled on the whole relationship thing. Now it's up to the three of us to get rid of it, & quickly.

"They got the body, identified her and everything" Tyson spoke.

"They got plans for a funeral?" I asked

"Ion'no. Aint like she had family here" he responded

"She fucked her family up" Tiffany added

"Just figure out where the body is, we'll go from there"

"Its at Smith's, no body came forward, they just figured she was a homeless drug addit, commiting suicide" Tyson spoke

"Im not leaving untill she's underground, figure out what they doing and when"

Thursday, July 20, 2007;
Three days later

My phone rang as I was packing most of the remaining clothes in my condo. I had kept a low key for the few days I was here. And I had planned on leaving today, I couldn't let my past keep me burried alive in NY.

"Hello?" I answered

"Good news" Tyson spoke

"What's up?"

"I claimed Dymond's body, they puttin her underground today. Bitch had mad warrants out, parole violation, robbery, atempted murder, human trafficing. You did the city a favor" Tyson joked.

"I did the city a big favor." I hung up the phone as I took a deep breath, finally I was releaved.

By now I had all of my clothes & close belongings packed, everything else would stay, or go to charity. I had already made the arrangement's for my car to be trucked to Mobile, my father gave it to me, I couldn't let that go. I pulled all my luggage towards the door as I called Tiffany one more time before I left. "Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky, are like shooting stars! I could really use a wish right now, wish right now, wish right now!" The chorus of B.O.B. "Airplanes" played on the other side of the door. I opened the door to see, Tiffany.

"You know I couldn't let you have all the fun" she said with a shy smirk.

I smiled a hugged her, I had family going with me, I wasn't alone any more.

As we placed our luggage in the backseat of Tiffany's Rover, I told her I wanted to make one last stop before the airport.

She parked near a curb in Harbor Tone as I grabbed the white Lily's that laid rested in my lap and got out of the car, "I'll be back, okay?"

"Need me to come?" Tiff asked

"I got it" I closed the door and walked off.

Standing before the marble headstone's of "Manuel Langston & Lisa Maria Monroe" ingraved in gold, I placed their favorite flowers on their resting places, "Goodbye, mommy. Goodbye daddy" I spoke softly as small tears surfaced apon my face. I walked away as the wind blew.

"You alright moma?" Tiffany asked as she switched gears.

I nodded slowly, "Yeah, im good."

She pulled off. Soon enough, we were aboarding our plane. Her car would be trucked as well. I sat next to the window as the other passengers got settled. Soon, the plane was cutting through the air as i said my finale goodbye. Finally, I was at peace.
